Introduction :
In view of day-to-day operation at wards, lots of signage cards with patient care information have been widely used at bedside. The bedside space is not merely very limited and the information is also required time-consuming manual steps for updating. HOIT&HI Product Team under Smart Hospital Program has started to develop the Smart Panel App. Apart from achieving a clear illustration of patient care information on designated electronic display, the use of Smart Panel is further extended as a multi-functional platform at bedside to maximize the accessibility of clinical data via HA clinical App.
Objectives :
This project aims at developing Smart Panel App with the application of mobile technology and system integration as well as build in a multi-functional electronic platform at bedside.
Methodology :
The implementation wards at HA hospitals have launched the Smart Panel App by installation of electronic display device at patient bedside and have extended the use of Smart Panel for accessing clinical data at a glance.
Result & Outcome :
As at 4Q 2022, 25 hospitals in HA have started to implement Smart Panel following with successful pilot. It not merely tackles the current clinical need for indicating a clear and structured care information at bedside; and also acts as a multi-functional electronic platform for accessing patient information at a glance, e.g. Laboratory results, Radiology result, Patient Assessment Form (Nursing), etc.. The system integration has streamlined the clinical workflow resulting in data accuracy and time saving. With the synergy effect along with trial on electronic vital signs (e-Vital), the e-Vital chart can be viewed directly at smart panel in a convenience way. Eventually, a better clinical outcome and staff experience on application of innovative technology with a win-win strategy are accomplished.
