Introduction :
Executive Partners of the Cluster Quality and Safety Office were part of the organizing committee of the HKEC Patient Safety Month (PSM) 2022. An event of the PSM 2022 was a photo exhibition with the theme of “疫境難捱日日並肩同服務，齊心渡過年年合作見精神”, aimed to promulgate patient safety and recognize the hardships HKEC staff encountered during the long battle against COVID-19 in Hong Kong.
Objectives :
To promulgate patient safety and quality service care in HKEC.
To appreciate the endeavours of HKEC staff in fighting against COVID-19 and better support our community
Methodology :
All HKEC staff were invited to submit photos taken which reflected their effort in fighting against COVID-19. Clinical, administrative and clerical staff of HKEC comprised the Photo Exhibition Organizing Committee set up in June 2022 to coordinate and select photo submissions as well as other aspects of project management including budget planning, procurement process for event decoration and souvenirs, logistics management and stakeholder engagement.
Result & Outcome :
A total of 390 photos were received. 37 were shortlisted to display at the PYNEH Training Centre on 5th December 2022. They were then displayed at the main block of PYNEH for two more weeks for further promulgation of patient safety. The photos were made into a one-piece display board and copies of the board were put on display in RTSKH, TWEH, WCHH, CCH, and SJH. The photos were also used in decorating the PSM 2022 website and event backdrop, and in making PSM souvenirs including plastic folders and calendar cards. A video montage of the photos using the PSM2022 theme song as background music was uploaded to the PYNEH YouTube channel.
The photo exhibition was successfully held. The efforts of organizing team were highly appreciated by the guests. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to all those who submitted photos. It is hoped that in the future, more staff would be engaged and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
