Introduction :
Breast clinic started services since 2000 since opening of TKOH. Breast surgeon, breast nurse and physiotherapist work separately in different session in outpatient department causing multi-visit of patients. Current breast nurse clinic cannot cater all breast cancer cases due to manpower and session constraints. Also, no extra manpower in breast nurse clinic, nurse clinic duty was take-over by rotated ward breast nurses.
According to Hong Kong Cancer Registry 2020, Breast cancer has been the most common cancer among women in Hong Kong. In 2020, there were 4,956 newly registered female breast cancer cases, accounting for 28.4% of all new cancer cases in females. The rapid population growth increased from 430 thousand to 480 thousand and aging from 11% aged 55-64 to 17.2% in TKO/Sai Kung for past ten years
Therefore, establish the one stop multidisciplinary breast clinic to facilitate the rapid population growth in Tseung Kwan O District for fast tract services.
Objectives :
Establish one stop multidisciplinary breast clinic in TKOH
Provide Fast-track diagnostic service
Improve cancer service coordination

Designated breast clinic to provide Fast-track diagnostic service
Facilitate the patient flow, achieving the goal of early diagnosis and early treatment, shorten the waiting time and patients’ anxiety level
Provide a readily accessible contact for patient throughout their diagnosis and treatment
Methodology :
An interventional study design was used to analyze the satisfaction rate on breast cancer patients to visit the new one stop clinic. There are 9 questions to answer by patients or carers when they visit one stop clinic. The questionnaires including environment and arrangement of the new setting. The data was collected from the TKOH Breast Care Centre from of June 2022 to September of 2022.
Result & Outcome :
Compare with last year (2021) Patient satisfaction survey, the overall satisfaction rate excellent increase from 92% to 93%. Patients had no worries or fears from 4% to 13%.
