Paired Kidney Donor or Cross-blood Group Barrier Living Related Renal Transplant in Hong Kong

This abstract has open access
Abstract Description

Living donor kidney transplantation is an essential component in the kidney transplant program. Blood group and Human Leucocyte Antigen compatibilities are the two major immunological barriers for kidney transplantation. Incompatible transplantation and kidney paired donation are two complementary strategies to overcome such immunological barrier.

In this presentation, the experience of Queen Mary Hospital to improve access to living kidney transplantation with the above two strategies would be shared.
