Abstract Description

As humans we make seven errors daily, mostly things like misplacing your car keys, forgetting to call back someone, etc but when this occurs in the healthcare setting the implication can be disastrous. 


Understanding human factor is crucial to improve clinical performance and patient safety. This presentation looks at several human factors guided by evidence on how we can address them. Practices from other industries mainly aviation are applied within the healthcare setting. Practical tips both from an individual level as well as from a team perspective are shared with the hope of improving patient safety.
